The landscape is rather barren at this time of year, but the daffodils are enough to brighten up the grey skies above me, especially in the west of Scotland.
There is also much toing and froing as the birds think about nesting. Our self-build Nesting Ring gives them a much-needed boost. A circular ring made of hay, with Soay sheep wool from our herd of sheep, mosses, dried grass, seed heads and the odd feather or two from our free-ranging ducks, hens and geese.
