Welcome to my world ..     

In 2010 we bought a neglected 50 acre hillside which needed a lot of TLC in the lovely little hamlet of Glendaruel in Argyll.

Several years later our plans are taking shape. Living the lifestyle of a modern day crofter, growing our flowers instead of crops.

Our flock of Soay sheep graze the rough pasture and woodlands while the abundance of natural fauna and flora inspire me to carve out a new way of life.Taking a different approach to work and forming a greater love and respect for my natural environment, I immerse myself in the simple beauty of nature.

I have finally found a balance living on our hillside, embracing a simpler lifestyle and enjoying the quietness and seclusion that the wilderness offers me. The abundance of red squirrels, pine martin and many other species of wild animals surpasses my expectations as I look out the window each day.

The carpet of bluebells as I take an early evening stroll in spring enhances my life if not my bank balance. The coffee in the birdhide as I watch another flock of long tailed tits move through the trees with a distinctive sound that is familiar to me now. I may spend hours walking in the gorge admiring the smell and quantity of wild garlic that grows there naturally without any human intervention, while pondering what recipe I can use some in....this is my way of life.
